Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts

As a multidisciplinary nonprofit cultural arts facility with an 18-year history of excellence, it is the mission of the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts to serve as a catalyst for lifelong discovery and exploration of the arts. Situated in Brookfield’s beautiful Mitchell Park, the Wilson Center is recognized as a cultural anchor in the Greater Milwaukee community and focuses on three main disciplines: performing arts, arts education, and visual arts. Since opening in 2002, the Wilson Center has annually welcomed more than 45,000 people to a diverse array of premier performances, educational programs, classes, festivals, and special events. For event dates, ticket information, and more, please visit our website.

Wilson Center Highlights:

  • Intimate and eclectic performances– Second to none in virtuosity and cultural breadth, each performance presented as part of our season features premier artists across an expertly curated range of genres—from dance to jazz to local singer-songwriters to global sensations, and more.
  • Year-round classes– Connect with other artists and cultures, expand your perspective, and tap into your creative side with our visual art classes, as well as theatre, music, and Irish dance classes offered at the Wilson Center by our renowned community partner organizations: First Stage Academy, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and Trinity Academy of Irish Dance.
  • Ploch Art Gallery– Located in the upper level of our Kuttemperoor Grand Hall, the Ploch Art Gallery is proud to display the work of regional professional artists each season. Each exhibition includes a free artist meet & greet with complimentary wine and light appetizers.
  • Arts education for students– From a performance series for students to workshops and residences that connect professional artists with students to a week-long summer comprehensive arts and nature camp that allows students to experience dance, theatre, and visual art through an environmental scope, the Wilson Center annually welcomes more than 10,000 students—many of whom are experiencing the arts for the first time.
  • Starry Nights Concert Series– A free outdoor concert series held on Friday evenings during the summer. Gather your family and friends, pack your lawn chairs and picnic basket, and find your perfect spot in our beautiful backyard.
  • The international Wilson Center Guitar Festival– In addition to live competition rounds in five different genres—blues, classical, fingerstyle, jazz, and rock—that are free and open to the public, the annual Festival offers something for guitar lovers of all ages, to include master classes and workshops, leading industry vendors featuring the latest and greatest guitar gear, live music from local artists, guitar exhibits, guitar yoga, a ticketed headliner concert featuring guitar legends, and more.
