Beyond the Insider’s Guide: Dive Deeper into Brookfield

Fourth Of July in Brookfield
There’s no better place to celebrate the red, white, and blue than right here in Brookfield, Wisconsin! Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, our Fourth of July festivities are a beloved tradition that bring the whole community together. From decorated bikes and parades to fireworks lighting up the sky, here’s everything you need to know to plan your day of celebration.
Festivities:
The celebration begins on Wednesday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library. Children are invited to bring their bikes and join in the fun at the Bike Decorating event in the Library’s East parking lot. Get creative with decorations and be ready to show off your patriotic spirit in the Children’s Parade the next day!
On Thursday, July 4, the excitement continues with Brookfield’s annual Independence Day Parade, starting at 10:00 a.m. The parade route runs along Calhoun Road, which will close at 9:30 a.m., so plan ahead and arrive early!
Please note: no seating may be reserved along the parade route before 7:00 p.m. on July 3.
Immediately following the parade, head to Civic Plaza for a meaningful Flag Raising Ceremony and a refreshing Ice Cream Social — the perfect way to cool down and connect with neighbors.
The celebration doesn’t stop there! Family Fest starts at 6:00 p.m and goes until 9:00 p.m. at Mitchell Park. Brookfield’s Family Fest is an evening packed with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and a variety of local food vendors. It’s the perfect way to spend your evening outdoors with friends and family.
Fireworks:
End the day on a high note with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. over Mitchell Park. Bring a blanket, find a cozy spot, and enjoy the grand finale as the sky lights up in celebration of our nation’s birthday.
*In case of rain, fireworks will be rescheduled for Friday, July 5 (note: Family Fest will not take place on the rain date).*
Whether you come for the parade, stay for the music, or wait all day for the fireworks, join us for a day full of tradition, community, and unforgettable moments at Brookfield’s Fourth of July celebrations!
