Farmers’ Markets: From our farms to your table…

Brookfield is home to two weekly farmers’ markets.  The Village hosts a Farmers’ Market every Thursday from 3-7 pm, June through October.  Featuring a variety of produce, flowers, organic food, and prepared items, the Village Farmers’ Market is held in a new city parking lot on Hoffmann Avenue, just east of Brookfield Road, and is managed by Brookfield Village Ltd.,  Information can be found here.

The Brookfield Civic Center Farmers’ Market debuted in 1991.  Today after 3 decades of operation, the market is thriving as a place where shoppers can purchase fresh Wisconsin-grown products.  It has also become a Saturday morning meeting place for residents and visitors to the Brookfield area.   For more details, please visit our website.

We love a parade…and ice cream and fireworks.

Brookfield is proud to host a variety of city and town-wide festivities in observance of Independence Day.  The City of Brookfield parade begins at 10 AM on July 4, with the annual city-wide Ice Cream Social taking place on the Civic Plaza immediately following, with a flag-raising ceremony and other activities.  Family Fest is in full-swing at Mitchell Park from 6-9 PM.  This annual pre-fireworks event features family-oriented games and activities, a variety of food and entertainment.

The annual city fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:17 on July 4, at Mitchell Park.  More information can be found at the following link.

The Annual 4th of July Celebration is a Town of Brookfield tradition.  Independence Day festivities kick off with a parade at 9 AM followed by unlimited games for all ages, and a pie eating contest.  Food is available for purchase at family-friendly prices.   Parade line-up begins prior to 8:45 AM in the Elmbrook Church north parking lot.  The parade winds east on Davidson Road, then south on Linden Lane into Marx Park.  Bring your chairs and candy bags to watch the parade!  Details can be found here.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Weihnachten in Brookfield…

The holiday spirit is alive and well in Brookfield!  Hosted by the Brookfield International Friendship Association, Inc. the German Holiday Market brings a taste of European Christmas to Brookfield.  This family-friendly event held in the Brookfield Civic Plaza features holiday crafts and letters to Santa, story time by the Brookfield Library, and photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Bundle up and head outside to enjoy German singing and dancing, musical performances by local school groups and the Milwaukee Liederkranz.  Hayrides, a bonfire with s’mores and a Tree Lighting Ceremony with Brookfield Mayor Steve Ponto round out a day of fun for everyone!  Search the website for more information.
